WCMY: Cong. Kinzinger says Democrats’ coronavirus relief bill includes other spending
The coronavirus relief bill that passed the U.S. House last week didn’t get any Republican support. The bill provides some stimulus payments, rent relief, and money for schools and child care.
Cong. Adam Kinzinger says he didn’t support it because it contains spending for things that have nothing to do with coronavirus relief. He says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi played politics when she brought forth the HEROES 2.0 Act.
Kinzinger isn’t listing his specific objections, but some Republicans criticize it for money going to Planned Parenthood and to people living in the country illegally. Another criticism is that it requires federal prisoners to be released early.
