Ottawa Times: Kinzinger supports defense bill
The local congressman on Wednesday praised President Donald Trump for a nearly $700 billion defense policy bill. The legislation calls for adding troops, ships, planes and other equipment, but Congress has yet to pass a spending bill for those things, with Trump calling for Democrats to get on board.
In a statement, U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, said he was happy to see the defense authorization bill signed into law, especially after it received bipartisan support.
"Our military is in need of the robust funding to address our readiness crisis with a balanced approach to allocating such resources," he said.
