Morris Daily Herald: Kinzinger files for 2020 election

U.S. Congressman from Channahon seeks fifth term

U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-16th District, filed nominating petitions Monday with more than 4,000 signatures in his bid for reelection to serve the 16th District in Congress, according to a news release issued by his office.

Kinzinger, a Channahon Republican, released a statement after officially filing with the State Board of Elections:

“I’m proud to serve the hardest working people in America, and am inspired by their resilience. While serving in the minority has not always been easy, I’m encouraged by the people of IL-16 who share my belief that we live in the greatest country on Earth and that our future is bright.

“I’m humbled by the strong support I’ve received in my bid for reelection, and motivated to continue fighting for the 16th District.

“From the opioid epidemic to the issues our farmers face, I will keep pushing for House leadership to bring USMCA to the floor, and remain committed to ensuring our veterans have the benefits they deserve and the resources they need to return to civilian life with a sense of purpose.

“I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished, but I know there is more we can do. I’m proud to serve this great district, and ready to continue fighting for the people of IL-16.”
