La Salle News Tribune: Kinzinger releases statement on reopening government

Today, U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-District 16, which includes La Salle, Bureau and Putnam counties) voted to re-open the government when he voted in favor of the continuing resolution to fund the government through Feb. 8 and fully fund the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for six years.

Following the vote, Kinzinger's office released this statement: “This government shutdown was entirely unnecessary and costly to the country. Now that the Democrats are finished playing their political games, we can continue to work on the big issues facing this country and the American people. I look forward to working with my colleagues as we continue to grow the economy and strengthen our national security.”
